The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little reward to more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually pressed up the rate of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
